1. The buildings in the project area have all been set to demolish for this example. To start generating buildings in the subarea, select the subarea by clicking on it.

2. After selecting it, a menu with object information pops up. Click on the generate tab.

3. Within the generate tab, click on generate. This will generate some default buildings in the subarea.

4. There are a lot of options to generate your desired buildings. First up, there are default variants you can choose from. This will change the rotation and look of the buildings.

5. Here you can see a different variation.

6. You can enable the new render with 3D facades function to render more visually pleasing buildings. This does decrease performance slightly.

7. Next up you can choose the layout types and choose the lot depth.

8. There are also multiple options for housing types. These types can be mixed by adding different types and setting their percentages to the values you desire.

9. The options for parking standards are used in the statistics for your project. The 3DCityplanner will tell you if your project has enough parking spaces in the statistics tab.
Infrastructure is used to determine the road types, road layout and grid alignment. Roads are only generated when the subarea is big enough to have logical space for roads.

10. These are 2 examples of a generated subarea with different road types and layouts. By choosing for certain roadtypes you can increase the parking space or have more greenery in the subarea. Infrastructure is a useful tool to quickly generate realistic designs with automatically generated greenery, streetlights and parking spots as desired for your project.

11. The other land use options can be adjusted to transform some of the lots into green areas or parking areas. The final options are related to cost and landuse. Adjusting these values will give you a cost calculation at the bottom of the page.

12. When you've filled in all the values that are relevant to your project, press save output. This will make the generated buildings real objects that you can edit further.

13. Click save output to confirm.
